If you have found this page, it's probably as a result of Boing Boing or Digg. I would really really appreciate it if (assuming you are one of the people embedding the gif on your page from here) you would use the copy that is up on flickr: http://static.flickr.com/12/68664502_882b2a4a01_m.jpg. And even better, take a copy and put it locally. Seriously, I won't be heartbroken not to get the credit.*
Jiri Baum has altered it to be 125 x 125 if that works better for your site - and I am sure he would also like it if you took a copy and used it locally
The image was done with the help of Voidmstr because it was way early in the morning and he was sweet enough to fix the image that was blurry as a result of my misplacing my glasses.
Linking
I've also, with the editing help of Nathaniel Simpson, put up a nice stable page you can link the button to at http://noxmas.blogspot.com/. It's in plain english, and links to multiple stories on the subject. Depending on the site, I have been linking to the blog of the dude who broke the story or the intro level version (which in turn links to the blog of the dude... Mark Russinovich).
In fact, depending on how web savvy you are (or aren't), you might want to just copy and paste the following text:
For beginner-level description:
<a href="http://noxmas.blogspot.com/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/12/68664502_882b2a4a01_m.jpg" border=0 alt=" " align="right" /></a>
For the Boycott Sony blog:
<a href="http://boycottsony.us/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/12/68664502_882b2a4a01_m.jpg" border=0 alt=" " align="right" /></a>
Mark Russinovich's blog:
<a href="http://www.sysinternals.com/blog/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/12/68664502_882b2a4a01_m.jpg" border=0 alt=" " align="right" /></a>
Me.
If I wanted the credit I would have given my last name when I sent it to Boing Boing, wouldn't I? I actually kind of freaked out when I saw "Gisela" instead of my usual net.moniker "Gigi" ;-) Such is the paranoia of being a business owner with a naughty streak. (Business life here; personal life there. Never the twain shall meet.)
But since the cat is out of the bag already, if you absolutely positively have to know who I am and what I look like you can go to my page on BusinessPartnerships.ca. In case you are wondering, I don't like to do interviews. (If I did, I would be rolling naked in a giant pile of money.) If you need a quote just use:
I made the button because no one else seemed to be. And because I (we) have a few sites with lots of Joe Average-type visitors I figured, "they may not be technical, but I bet they're buying presents. How can I get them not to buy Sony?" - Gisela(And yes, this page is really boring. This subdomain was here just to host some pictures of my cats, not an actual page. I'm busy, and I already have some ungodly number of references scattered around the Internet - only about 1k of those are me.)
